It’s vital I really understand what you want, so that I can best advise and understand your end result. Some people really want a highly detailed finish to stand the test of time, while others may just need a refresh prior to selling a home. As for paints, there’s so many great options out there and lot of environmentally conscious companies to pick from as we’ve all become more aware of the chemicals in homes.

Once I understand more about the job I can estimate how long it will take and we can both agree a start date. With our lovely British weather some jobs (mainly exterior) are best done at certain times of the year so having it planned always enable me to do it properly.

Work done properly with the correct preparation should last a long time with no issues, however sometimes there are issues, maybe a reaction with the paint and surface, or some shrinking on exterior finishes so within the 12 months of the work completed I’ll always do my best to support with any unforeseen problems.

Yes. I have extensive experience working on older period properties. I use the appropriate method and materials to best preserve the character of your property. Older buildings have their quirks and using the wrong materials can cause problems, for example I see lots of damp issues because the materials used are not letting the building breathe. Fortunately there are lots of options and products available so there’s nearly always a solution.

I work with all leading paint products, but have a real soft spot for the more heritage and eco-friendly paint brands. That said it’s always about using the right product for the situation. Timescales vary depending on the size and complexity of the project. Before work begins, I’ll discuss timescales and make sure everything fits with your schedule.
As we all know, not everything runs smoothly so I am very adaptable to any situation that pops up.

This can be discussed and agreed between us. Some customers don’t have the ability to move their belongings and furniture so we can agree this on a case by case basis. Before I start any work I protect all surfaces, floors, fixtures and belongings to minimise mess and ensure your home is treated with the utmost care. I also use the latest Dustless Sanders that help enormously in reducing mess and improving air quality for both you and I.

Yes. Most of the my time spent is in surface preparation. I can repair cracks, damaged plaster, timber, mouldings, doors, windows and other decorative features. With every project we will discuss the level of preparation and finish you’re looking to achieve so I can plan accordingly. Each project is different, some need a quick refresh, whilst others may require a more detailed finish.
